Terra Majura considers the extra-virgin olive oil enhancement as an operation going through costumer respect: the oil is exclusively produced processing our own olives.

The very high-quality of “Terra Majura” olive oil could be easily evaluated by care and respect we have for crops, harvest and milling.

With passion and dadication, we produce an extra-virgin olive oil filled with history and tradition. Fruity and fragrant tastes harmoniously coalesce in the strict respect of the values we are characterised by.

COMPANY PROFILE

Our story starts in the 1982. Passion for our land and an always growing improvement of each production phase guarantee the products great quality. Glee given by happy response of our costumers makes us feel gratified of our work and the attention we pay to it.

We are proud of our product and proud of passing down its culture.

PRODUCTION

Production is limited and varies from year to year. Our oil is destined to a demanding consumer who appreciates its characteristics and history. We can proudly say that we produce an oil “for connoisseurs”.

The oil is not filtered and, as time goes by, a slight sediment settles on the bottom, which proves its genuineness. The yield varies from 11% to 16% depending on the climate of the season.

2018-2019 PRODUCTION

IL CLASSICO

The harvest of the olives continues for the entire month of November. The product is slightly less bitter and spicy due to the ripeness of the olives. The flavour of this oil is well balanced and rounded, with a well defined character that is well suited to many uses in cooking.

RISERVA DEL PRODUTTORE

This product is the result of an early harvest which happens in October. The particular Typicality is due to the presence of the varieties used which reach the peak of their characteristics during the early period of the harvest. The friuty quality is strong and lasting. Only a limited number of bottles are produced.

IL PIETRARA - D.O.P Umbria

With the production of 2018 onwards we are proud to have the D.O.P. certification (DENOMINAZIONE ORIGINE PROTETTA), an important recognition that GUARANTEES the TYPICALITY of the product, with regard to the olive varieties used and the link to the territory. Let’s celebrate this award by submitting to a select audience on the PIETRARA, the highest expression of our passion, produced in a limited and numbered series of 250 bottles.

Our work

THE POSITION

The olive grove is nestled on the Umbrian hills near the village of Cesi: we are in the heart of Italy, at about 350 meters above sea level. The nature of the soil is basically stony, rich in limestone. The environment is particularly favourable for olive growing. In the nearby woods there are wild boars, porcupines, hedgehogs, hares and nesting buzzards
